Black Tongue is a Hull, England deathcore band formed in 2013, widely credited as a defining act in downtempo deathcore—a style the band itself calls 'Doomcore.' Founding members drawn from Infant Annihilator and Acrania shaped a sound built on impossibly slow, dense breakdowns layered over blackened atmospheric passages. Their debut EPs Falsifier and Born Hanged (Century Media, 2014) established this template, while The Unconquerable Dark (2015) and Nadir (2018) refined it toward a bleaker, more blackened direction.
Bodysnatcher emerged from the swamps of South Florida in 2014, delivering a brand of deathcore and beatdown hardcore so heavy it feels like being buried alive. Their albums 'This Heavy Void' and 'Bleed-Abide' pair guttural vocals with crushing slam riffs and breakdowns designed to level any room. The band has become a cornerstone of the modern deathcore underground, earning respect through sheer sonic violence.
BOLTCUTTER emerged from Eugene, Oregon in 2023 with a brand of hip-hop-infused slam metal they call 'idiotic slamming chainbreak chuggery.' The band revels in absurdity, layering guttural slam vocals over crushing breakdowns and trap-influenced rhythms. Their debut material quickly earned attention in underground slam and brutal death metal circles for its unhinged energy and refusal to take itself seriously.
Boris the Blade is a Melbourne, Australia technical and brutal deathcore band formed in 2010, named after a character from the 2000 film Snatch. Their debut EP Tides of Damnation (2011) debuted at number one on the iTunes metal chart in Australia, and the band rapidly built a reputation for punishing blast beats and technically demanding breakdowns. Their debut full-length The Human Hive followed in May 2014 via Century Media Records; the band performed their final show in May 2019.
