The Anointing Maelstrom are an American experimental black/death metal project that emerged in 2018 with little regard for genre convention — their music collapses the boundary between black metal's atmospheric chaos and death metal's structured brutality, then distorts both through an experimental lens that makes each release feel like an act of sonic violence with unstable outcomes.
