Resurrected is a brutal death metal and grindcore band from Duisburg in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, active since 1997. Nearly three decades of activity make them one of the veteran acts in the Ruhr area's extreme metal underground.
Boston's Retained Surgical Instrument arrived in 2024 bearing one of extreme metal's most viscerally clinical names, pairing death metal's crushing weight with grindcore's velocity and brevity. Their medical horror conceptual framing is a tradition in goregrind and gore-death, but the name itself is precise enough to feel genuinely unsettling. A new contender in Boston's increasingly active brutal underground.
Death metal and grindcore band from Curitiba, Paraná, whose lineup includes vocalist Larissa Pires, guitarist Felis Possesso, bassist Cristiano Deathreisen, and drummer Leonardo Freitas. The band released their self-titled debut in July 2012, followed by the full-length Decomposição Brutal in July 2016, both available through their Bandcamp page.
