Mental Disorder is a death metal and grindcore band from Temuco, in Chile's Araucanía region, built around original members Jorge Kayser (vocals/guitar), René López (guitar), and Jorge Ortiz (drums), with Mig Martiz on bass. The band originally formed in 2009 and disbanded in 2013 before regrouping in 2018; their themes address mental illness, society, and violence.
San Luis Obispo's Mephitic Corpse have been running death metal through a grindcore blender since 2019, building a sound that is equal parts Old School death metal rot and grindcore's demand for maximum brevity and impact.
